Sen. Rick Scott: Michael Bloomberg’s Support of President Xi Puts Profits Over Human Rights

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Rick Scott released the following statement after Michael Bloomberg ignored Senator Scott’s request to change the location of the New Economy Forum, which is set to take place in Communist China this week.

Senator Rick Scott said, “President Xi continues to violate human rights and go back on every commitment he has made to the United States. How can someone who is running for President think it is acceptable to host a large scale event in Communist China? As Michael Bloomberg makes his case to the American people, he will have to answer for his support of a Communist government and his decision to put profits over human rights.”
